Rhabuko ( @Rhabuko@feddit.de ) English25•1 year agorif too 😭
BackOnMyBS ( @BackOnMyBS@kbin.social ) 10•1 year agoI had bought the premium version 8 years ago for just like ~$3-5. that was such a great deal. i loved the ui and how smooth it worked. they never integrated all those new awards. it was just nice and clean.
RIP RIF. it’s the end of an era.
KreekyBonez ( @KreekyBonez@lemmy.ml ) English8•1 year agoseeing that message yesterday sent me through all 5 stages of grief. after about an hour of that, I made an account here.
cheers to new beginnjngs
Kouran94 ( @Kouran@mander.xyz ) English6•1 year agoThe only way I’ve enjoyed Reddit in Android, for almost 10 years. Rip RIF.
Fin ( @Fin@lemmy.ml ) English6•1 year agosad day, RIP
ToastyWaffle ( @ToastyWaffles@lemmy.ml ) English5•1 year agoRelay dev said the same thing. It’s like even if I wanted to use Reddit on mobile, I can’t because the main app is literally unusable.
We’ll probably see a lot of traffic to Lemmy by then. Hope the servers are ready to handle an influx.
Furball ( @Furball@sh.itjust.works ) English24•1 year agoI’m here because Apollo is shutting down… it was too good to last
LesserEvil ( @LesserEvil@lemmy.world ) English8•1 year agoSaw the post about Apollo yesterday. This is my first post on Lemmy, today.
Zifnab25 ( @Zifnab25@lemmy.ml ) English7•1 year agoSolidarity.
Roi ( @roizor@lemmy.ml ) English22•1 year agoThat’s exactly why I moved to lemmy
Caboose ( @Caboose@lemmy.ml ) English4•1 year agoSame here but because of Sync.
Vlixz ( @Vlixz@lemmy.ml ) English2•1 year agoSync is officially shutting down too? /:
Skull giver ( @skullgiver@popplesburger.hilciferous.nl ) English3•7 months ago[This comment has been deleted by an automated system]
cowleggies ( @cowleggies@reddthat.com ) English15•1 year agoI really really hate to see Apollo go, but at the same time, I hope other Reddit app devs follow suit. Absolute trash way that Reddit is treating not only their devs, but users too.
Relected ( @Relected@sh.itjust.works ) English14•1 year agoit was infinity for me :(
thegiddystitcher ( @thegiddystitcher@beehaw.org ) English9•1 year agoRIP 🫡
kunday ( @kunday@lemmy.ml ) English7•1 year agoLong time Reddit user; new Lemmy user. 14 years to be precise. I’m already loving how good the community is and how positive the content is without all them bots. I’ll do my best to contribute!
LlamaSutra ( @LlamaSutra@sh.itjust.works ) English7•1 year agoA well-placed Pelosi
Lemuria ( @lemuria@lemmy.ml ) English7•1 year agoi do have to wonder why pelosi was added to the meme 🤔
OhSnapKracklePopped ( @OhSnapKracklePopped@beehaw.org ) English7•1 year agoSaw this notification yesterday when I opened the App. I guess I’m deleting my Reddit account that day. It really is a shame—it was such a good app, and the developer seems like such a chill person.
Tristar500 ( @Tristar500@lemmy.ml ) English7•1 year agoI have a feeling we’ll see Apollo, the Lemmy edition soon enough.
TragicNotCute ( @TragicNotCute@lemmy.world ) English1•1 year agoOh I really hope
ritchie ( @ritchie@lemmy.one ) English6•1 year agoRIP. I really enjoyed using it while I actively used my iPhone. I guess RedReader will end up the same.
qprimed ( @qprimed@lemmy.ml ) English1•1 year agoRedReader user here. hoping that they switch over to lemmy, but thats a fair bit if dev time (would be happy to donate if thats the path they take). in any event, the fediverse is my new home and I am more than good with what I have seen so far.
ritchie ( @ritchie@lemmy.one ) English3•1 year agoRedReader dev says that they were allowed to operate free because of the accessibity they provide.
qprimed ( @qprimed@lemmy.ml ) English2•1 year agoyes, it looks like RedReader gets a stay of execution for now - thats good for the short term. the RR dev has indicated that the medium term path forward is to include Lemmy as an endpoint for RR. that is going to really interesting.
ritchie ( @ritchie@lemmy.one ) English2•1 year agoOn android I am using redreader too and liked the minimalistic approach very much.
qprimed ( @qprimed@lemmy.ml ) English2•1 year agoexactly. it a beautifully simple and perfectly functional app. pretty much the only thing that made Reddit tolerable.
Disgusted_Tadpole ( @Disgusted_Tadpole@lemmy.ml ) English6•1 year agoFucking hell, I was so depressed when I opened the app to see this message.
MisterMonday ( @MisterMonday@lemmy.ml ) English5•1 year agoThis was the line for me. Apollo had great tools and filters which made Reddit usable. Even bearable. I can’t be bothered to wade through the swamp without it.
Jeze3D.exe v0.0.5 ( @jezebelley@lemmy.ml ) English4•1 year agoI literally just bought an iPhone with a large part of that decision being the ability to use Apollo. I’m absolutely devastated. That app is a hardware seller. It’s the iOS equivalent of a Zelda title on a Nintendo console.
TragicNotCute ( @TragicNotCute@lemmy.world ) English3•1 year agoMy first though was “really? No way” and then I thought about how much I use and love Apollo. Yeah, I get it now.
Tavirez ( @Tavirez@beehaw.org ) English3•1 year agoI will miss Apollo! I will go support Pixel Pals and give Christian my money that way.
TragicNotCute ( @TragicNotCute@lemmy.world ) English1•1 year agoMy pixel cat is FAT AF. Homeboy got up to like 65lbs so perhaps it’s good I take a break from Apollo.
