Seems like we could benefit from a large community specifically oriented towards helping others find communities for a specific topic. Does anything of that sort exist on beehaw or elsewhere?

You mean something where you ask for community recommendations from other people? Or just a searchable community index like lemmyverse.net?
yeah I was thinking some kind of 411 sub, something to use once you’ve tried the community index

Doesn’t make sense to include a lemmy.world community as long as we aren’t federated with them imo
i’m a visitor from distant reaches of the fediverse so i’m including it for fellow travellers
