Now that ffx/x-2 HD is 10 years old, isn’t it time for a true ffx remake? I have such great memories playing the original game as a kid, but the current HD remaster screwed up the character models.

I would love a ps5 version of ffx. The story is absolutely wonderful, and I’m sure if someone puts a decent amount of effort in it, they can fix a lot of the more grindy parts of the game along with a blizball update that could make it really fun.

    If you’re worried about the grind, go install the Untitled Project X mod. It has an option to give exp to all party members regardless of battle participation. It eliminates the “swap everyone in to Guard for a single turn” hassle. Because by default the game forces you to either swap everyone in for a turn, or grind like hell to get everyone properly leveled.

    UPX fixes a lot of the issues that the remake has, so ironically that option is buried and was only added as an afterthought. But it’s one of the biggest and most impactful changes that you can make, because it completely eliminates the need to grind. Since every member is getting exp with every battle, you aren’t forced to wait for the relevant enemies to spawn before certain characters level up.

    I’ve been playing FFXVI for the past week, enjoying it more than 13 and 15. But I really miss the vibrant world of FFX and the unique characters with well defined personalities, motivations, emotions. I’d just like to see more FF games that show more effort in the writing and creative design components.

    But a FFX full-remake à la FF7 remake would be great. After having played through FFX at least 3 times, I definitely need some more complexity and improvements to the battle mechanics to warrant a new play through.

    Nah, we need a remake of Zodiac Age. I always liked the license boards and combat system in that game. And that world would be totally awesome redesigned to current standards.
