The term roguelite predates roguelites having meta-progression. Games with procedural generation and permadeath that aren’t turn-based tile-based crpgs are roguelites.
If this game is a roguelike, then Doom is a point-and-click item adventure, and Asteroids is an FPS.

That’s before HL2, and it looks like the first third party titles were added in 2005, so I guess it would have just been Half Life 1, Team Fortress Classic, Counter Strike, and maybe a couple other things that are mostly forgotten today.
The value is specificity. Nothing about this game is like Rogue.

Now I’m imagining a test with the instruction to mark the correct answer if present. So it’s possible that none of the choices are correct and you’re expected to leave it blank in that case.
Thinking about it, it’s equivalent to just adding a “none of the above” option to every question, but somehow it feels much worse.
Treating this a s a pure statistics problem where the “correct” answers are selected randomly:
If all the options are equally likely, then there is no guessing strategy that will change the expected result.
If one option is more likely than the others, then you should choose that one every time. Any deviation will reduce your score, on average.
