I like the pink and blue dots in the two coloured fields in your ring finger.

I read it so that what you transitioned from always had a small pink dot in it. And what you are now has some sliver remaining of whatever you were as a 5-year-old. It’s not who you are, but it’s your roots in some fashion.

I recently moved from Voyager to Blorp, because Blorp also supports PieFed’s distinctive features, while Voyager can do only what Lemmy can do.

But has that been happening more in this time frame than before?

I really like the idea, but eventually some community I’d otherwise enjoy is bound to invent a personalized style that is, for reason or another, not good for mybuse andbI will then have to disable the feature for all communities :(

Aika vähän asialle voi mitään tehdä. Kaipa drooni lentää aika suoraan sinne, minne sen keula on näyttänyt häirinnän alkaessa. Ja jos Venäjä tähtää häirinnän alkamaan niin, että drooni lentää Kouvolaan, niin Kouvolaan se sitten lentää. Kaipa siinä voisi olla joku automatiikka, että jos menetetään navigointikyky, lennetään johonkin ennalta määriteltyyn ilmansuuntaan. Itä toimisi varmaan hyvin?

En kyllä myöskään yllättyisi, jos ilmenisi, että tuo on kuin onkin ammuttu alas sopivassa paikassa.

Drooneista tiedetään nyt, että niitä on kaksi. Toinen on vahvistettu ukrainalaiseksi kamikaze-drooniksi. Ne ovat lentäneet Suomen ilmatilassa 80 km matkan ja niiden sanotaan “saapuneen Suomen aluevesirajan yli”, mikä kuulostaa siltä, että niiden tulosuunta tuskin on ollut Koivisto, vaan ennemminkin Laukaansuu.

Ja Laukaansuuhunhan Ukraina on iskenyt tänään aamulla. Venäjän elektroninen sodankäynti ei ole kyennyt vaikuttamaan uusiin ukrainalaisdrooneihin, mutta nyt ovat näköjään kehittäneet jotain uutta.

Mielenkiintoiseksi koen tässä, että droonit ovat lentäneet noin kauas Suomen ilmatilaan. Yhden kerrotaan olleen Kouvolan eteläpuolella, joten arvaisin Ukrainan saaneen sen takaisin hallintaansa ja etäohjanneen sen sitten jonnekin, missä ei pitäisi olla riskiä törmätä ihmisiin.

Olettaisin, että tässä Venäjä on kohdistanut GPS-häirintää aika syvälle Suomen alueelle ihan nimenomaisena tarkoituksenaan saada drooni lentämään mahdollisimman pitkälle Suomen alueelle. …eli toisin sanoen kyseinen drooni on lentänyt käytännössä suoraan sinne, minne Venäjä on halunnut sen lentävän! Venäjä näyttää halunneen sen lentävän nimenomaan manner-Suomeen; pelkkä Suomenlahti ei ole Venäjälle kelvannut.

The Russia says they are separatists. In 2014 DW believed the Russia and in 2026 they seem to believing the Russia again.
Okay, I do believe that there are some pensioners that grew up in Soviet times and really want the city to cede to the Russia, but even most of Narva’s Russian-speaking pensioners are strongly against that. Still, a hundred pensioners are (hopefully) not what this article’s headline is talking about, as that would be intentional misleading. This article’s headline is much more likely to be talking about the people who have come from the Russia in order to function as a pretext for the Russian troops to invade Estonia. But in 2014 DW called those people “East-Ukrainian separatists”, so it’s not suprising they might be doing the same again.

Also, the video clearly shows Russian-speaking people telling – in Russian language – that the idea of such separatism is ridiculous. They would not say that if they knew even one Russian-speaker who has separatist thoughts.

There is no reason to believe this is any different from what took place in 2014.

What I was missing on KDE was a way to switch between programs without going through a bazillion windows. At one point I had five Firefox windows open, plus four file managers, and getting to GIMP ended up requiring a lot of keypresses: Firefox -> Firefox -> File manager -> Firefox -> File manager -> GIMP. I would have much preferred just Firefox -> File Manager -> GIMP. Is there a way to switch directly between programs and not between individual windows until I happen to land upon a window belonging to the program I actually need and can then Alt+Tilde to the correct program?

(Also, I think “Tilde” here does not really mean “AltGr+^ followed by space”, but instead some other button; probably the one overneath Tab?)

No, it actually doesn’t.

it’s facing a campaign tryinc go incite Russian-language separatism. But just like in Ukraine in 2014, they’ll need to bring actualy Russians from the Russia to do the actual “separatism”.

And it’s incredibly saddening that still in year 2026 DW calls the Russian troops “separatists”. Were the German soldiers in 1939 Belgian separatists in DW’s opinion?

I mean that if I have four Firefox windows open, three file manager windows open, GIMP open and Steam open and press alt+tab, I get cycled through four things: Firefox, File manager, Gimp and Steam. If I want a specific Firefox window, I first Alt+Tab to Firefox and then use Meta+Tab to cycle between the different windows of Firefox. That is incredibly convenient!

On my other computer I’m currently trying OpenSUSE, and its version of Gnome does not have the option for enabling this in the keyboard shortcuts. Not really sure if my Ubuntu really uses Unity or something else, but anyway it’s something that has a feature that makes the workflow much better.

I haven’t really found a DE that I like more than Unity. Basic Gnome gets close, but the ability to separate switch between programs and their windows is a big thing for me.

But, because of snap packages being annoying, I would really like to migrate away from Ubuntu. Meh.
