If it’s multitasking tiling they want, then Markor does do that, as it supports multiple windows.

Markor is, by far, the best.

They did start accepting AI-generated contributions a while ago, but the latest release (2.16.1) is still clean.

In addition to Markdown docs and to-dos, it also supports Org-Mode, AsciiDoc, ZimWiki, todo.txt, and (of course) plaintext.

However, it does not have a tiled view.

I’d say so, yes. The main differences are that the pricing is a little different ($6 per month, rather than €5), the service is based in Gibraltar (a non-UK British Overseas Territory), and it doesn’t offer as many anti-censorship features (just V2Ray over TCP or over QUIC).

Personally, I like it.

I don’t know why I bothered using Vim, Neovim, Micro, mg, and JOE for so long, when nano was always there (though not necessarily OOTB), configurable with all of the features I used in the other editors, and has never broken as long as I’ve been using it.

The only editor I may leave it for would be Emacs, and that would be more for the extension scripts and an excuse to learn ELisp than anything else.
