You’re not my dentist!
26·12 days agoThey’ve been doing that for a decade or longer as Facebook itself. Not that it’s right but not new.
Started a new job. Not a higher position, but one that should be less stress. However the first day was certainly stressful and I already hate the commute. Don’t have time to do anything!
Pray for me that it will be a good move…
2·26 days agoHipcamp is pretty good for private and off the grid camping too. I’ve been using it more and finding great spots.
2·1 month agoFirst one is pretty good standalone. Makes you want some answers though, but entirely fine standalone.
The Prince of Nothing is a great series and pretty complex.
7·1 month agoHow can anyone mistake a standing bipedal human, for a four legged animal; a deer. Something doesn’t add up there.
We have not altered the block or allow lists in a while; not sure why you’re only just now seeing Beehaw posts across the fediverse. What is your home instance??? (Assuming Lemmy.zip)
12·1 month agoTinder and match apps prey on the lonely and desperate. They have no interest in matching you or getting you off the platform. This is not a dig at you, just the modus operandi of such apps. I was in for a while too, but left because of the constant rejection and zero communication. You’re much bettr off in meat space. As a divorced dad of two and a cancer diagnosis, ain’t no hope of me competing with those Ryan Gosling types for ladies attention.

Hi,
About a month ago we implemented some mitigation related to unrelenting DDoS and scanning attempts. Might be that our security stack is seeing your connections as part of this, regardless of IP/VPN/TOR. I’d need more information from you to determine that, and try to get a fix in for your connections that don’t hinder our availability or security. Can you DM me here, or on Matrix
@penguincoder:hive.beehaw.orgso we can discuss a few pertinent details?
5·2 months agoPlease no. Depp is good, Captain Jack Sparrow was a great role. But it’s dead and over now. Get some new damn material. Let pirates die.
2·2 months agoInterface naming scheme, how to ifup/ifdown, ifconfig, ip commands, dhcp networking, DNS settings /etc/resolv.conf vs systemd, setting static vs DHCP for network interfaces, etc. You page says ‘diving into networking’ and you barely touch the firewall.
Wish more networking details were explained on the page, and not a video.
Seconding Mikrotiks for the price and functionality. Not plug and play, but very capable if you know how networking works and can configure it.

Suffer, mainly.
