It’s a common critique since BOTW came out (and now TOTK) to the point there’s a whole subreddit of more than 100k members where this is the unofficial majority opinion (r/truezelda). For example, a top post on the subreddit right now is “unpopular opinion: TOTK is still a great game.”
You not having seen it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.
