the big stickied thread is getting cluttered with lots of new people and the “how was your week” thread isn’t a great fit for introductions, so it seems about time to make this a dedicated thread of its own so peoples’ posts aren’t getting lost.

tell us a little bit about yourself, folks. don’t gotta be too specific or revealing, just whatever you want to put out there. this’ll be a good way of getting to know all the people you’re now on here with

  • It’s been awhile since I’ve introduced myself, so I guess I’ll give this a quick whirl.

On the internet I often go by Gaywallet but you can also refer to me as bunny. I’m 35, non-binary (they/them), poly, bay area native residing in SF. I spend a lot of my free time socializing, going to raves or finding EDM to dance to or maintaining relationships with my partners. If I’m unable to occupy my time with any of those I’m either working or consuming media of different sorts - I read a lot of science books and journals, watch plenty of TV and movies, and DJ occasionally. I’m a data scientist in healthcare by trade. I’m passionate about diversity and equity, especially in the healthcare space, but given that I’ve helped a lot with this websites ethos and charge, healthcare is not the only place where I try to champion equity and work towards a nicer, more humane future.

There’s already quite a few usernames I recognize from Reddit in this thread and the most recent batch, and I’m glad to see you all over here. 💜

my wife is a big fan of shipping in fandoms. she also loves genshin impact, and there’s a ship between zhongli (archon of geo) and childe (secret agent of shitheadville). zhongli often uses childe’s seemingly inexhaustible source of funds for various things, and when I saw “Gaywallet” I was 100% sure you were referencing childe being zhongli’s gaywallet.

A joke isn’t funny if you have to explain it, but god damn my wife thought it was the funniest thing ever when I was ruminating on whether your name was a reference to this ship or not.

      • A lot of people ask where my name comes from. I typically have to ask them where they think it comes from to get quality content like this, but I’m glad you offered it without my prompt! I find other people’s origin stories for my name much more interesting and fun. I should probably start a list somewhere with this information so other people can peruse it.
