This post inspired by my very recent discovery of the band Broken Focus, a hardcore/metal band that has a transfem lead vocalist. Who might just be my new gender goals.
Myself :D
I have two trans* artists that I really like.
Tiggrez Punch is a German feminist artist that mainly produces HipHop. I saw them live and I can only recommend them.
Awakesy! is a British transfem Artist that produces quite a wide Variety of genres, but mainly the darker styles of Techno and its subgenres. She has quite a lot of speedcore, but also lots of other cool stuff.
Eris drew and octa octa they just released a wonderful acid, breakbeat album as alchemical sisters. It is a testament, a statement. Transfemmes on top of their game shaking up electronic dance music. Its just so ridicoulesely fun
Nameless mist (atmospheric black metal)
Victory over the sun (avant-garde/prog black metal)
Kyros (prog-rock/synthpop)
Fogweaver (dungeon synth)
Bull of Apis Bull of Bronze (black metal)
Saving this for later
No such thing as too much black metal 🤌
I believe Cheap Perfume has a trans member. They’re also awesome
Nirvana :^)
Lena Raine is the first person in my mind, some people were very hard on her being C418’s successor. But I believe she’s actually great, haven’t listen to her other works tho.
You should try Celeste :3
Underscores (I like their album U), then femtanyl
Kinda obsessed with their newest All The Time rn, but I like a bunch of her earlier stuff too
I really like Wallsocket.
same, U is good too but the highlights on wallsocket are phenomenal.
Came here looking for this, I LOVE underscores. Lena Raine is super cool too! Though different… At the same time I feel isolated in liking the Celeste OST much more than the Minecraft one.
Oh no Celeste is peak yeah
My favourites are resurrections and reach for the summit
TOTALLY great choices. I don’t think I can choose personally… WAAAAAAY too many bangers in that OST. I listen to the whole thing in the car sometimes on longer drives. <3
That underscores is like a good “driving somewhere late at night” type album. Very solid, 8/10.
Jane Remover - https://youtube.com/@jane_remover
jane is just the goat, there’s been nobody doing it like her this decade
Against Me!
Laura Jane Grace is a beautiful person. I love her music, both before and after she transitioned.
Favorite songs:
- Delicate, Petite & Other Things I’ll Never Be
- We Laugh at Danger (and Break All the Rules)
- 333
- Fuckmylife666
Laura Jane Grace is a legend for her history in the punk community.
Edit - fav songs:
You look like I need a drink
I’m an anarchist
How Low
Idk how I’ve never heard of this one before but it’s giving early-2000’s blink 182/the killers, 9/10 very solid!
Transgender dysphoria blues is my favorite song.
Reinventing Axl Rose 🎧
There’s a bunch of trans punk bands here, Crop Tops and Heterophobes are probably my top two
I listen to Astrid, FEM&M, and shteppi a lot
Um… Axis of Awesome?
(I don’t even listen to them that much but I feel exposed for not having any bands with trans singers in my collection)
Probably still Wendy Carlos. The Clockwork Orange soundtrack is tight, and was pioneering.
Recently got into Lex Walton. She’s pretty obscure, you’ve probably never heard of her lol!
Lena Raine!
I was afraid no one would mention her.
Hell yeah, minecraft soundtrack lady
Celeste and guild wars 2 were my first exposure to her and I’ve been in love ever since! The tracks she’s done for Minecraft have been gorgeous though
