Mandy ( @Mandy@beehaw.org ) English28•1 year agoGot more votes and comments here than I ever got on reddit. So this place is pretty cool.
MarcellusDrum ( @MarcellusDrum@lemmy.ml ) English22•1 year agoEven if a post is a couple of days old, I feel like I can still comment and be part of the conversation here. On Reddit, if you miss the first few hours, your comment will probably be unseen, so why bother?
lackthought ( @lackthought@lemmy.sdf.org ) English8•1 year agoyeah sometimes it is helpful to have lower volume of content
reddit is like trying to drink from a bot infested firehose
the fediverse is like sipping on a nice wine/coffee/tea, etc with your friends
quality over quantity as they say
Neko the gamer ( @nekothegamer@vlemmy.net ) English1•1 year agoquality over quantity as they say
the best thing about the fediverse actually is that there’s enough quantity of content that’s also good quality, so you’re not sacrificing any of the two
Mandy ( @Mandy@beehaw.org ) English1•1 year agoPretty much yeah
Fredselfish ( @Fredselfish@lemmy.ml ) English1•1 year agoHow I feel. I go to work and by lunch time I miss all the good stuff.
Also most Reddit post that made the front page would be 90% another than what the post would be about. Here conversations feel more natural.
Neko the gamer ( @nekothegamer@vlemmy.net ) English2•1 year agomeh, for me it’s actually the opposite, i remember the first post ever on my reddit account reached 1k the day after, while here i got 45 upvotes on a post i made 6 days ago…
ShittyKopper [they/them] ( @ShittyKopper@lemmy.w.on-t.work ) English1•1 year agoI still remember doing one of those award speech edits after my first comment reached 1k all those years ago.
My current/last account got to 57k comment karma without me really trying or giving a shit and is barely two years old.
Martineski ( @Martineski@lemmy.fmhy.ml ) English16•1 year agoI have 2x posts with 200+ upvotes and 5x posts with 100+ upvotes . The engagement that I get on this platform is crazy.
Edit: but I also made 350 posts already so I kinda forced myself into my instance’s feed lol.
Rekorse ( @Rekorse@beehaw.org ) English10•1 year agoWell in my case I very rarely have ever posted on Reddit but I made a post on here that got nearly 100 comments on it, and it’s the only one I’ve made on here. I think the engagement in some areas might be better than reddit
Martineski ( @Martineski@lemmy.fmhy.ml ) English6•1 year agoI post mainly on my own sublemmies so it’s pretty damn impressive that I get any engagement at all lol.
Neko the gamer ( @nekothegamer@vlemmy.net ) English2•1 year agosublemmies lowkey sounds like a good name for lemmy communitites
Martineski ( @Martineski@lemmy.fmhy.ml ) English1•1 year agoI’m still to find a good name for users because “lemons” or “lemmings” sound meh at best and so far those 2 options are the most popular across the users.
ehrenschwan ( @ehrenschwan@feddit.de ) English5•1 year agoWhat i also find interesting is the interaction at times. I consistently see posts with as much and sometimes more comments than upvotes. The one post i made also had 0.8 comments per upvote.
yippy ( @yippy@lemm.ee ) English4•1 year agoI would be more receptive to upvoting posts if I didn’t have to search for them. I like to load r/all to see what’s going on but lemmy will repopulate the page and I’ll lose the thread. I thought this was suppose to be fixed after the recent upgrade. Anyways I gave you an upvote lol.

You forgot about evil ones
