She says she’s open to it but doesn’t find it as intuitive. So there’s a chance.
Hari Seldon ( @HariSeldon_official@lemm.ee ) English26•1 year agoTo be fair, neither Reddit was intuitive when I first started using it.
smoll_pp_operator ( @smoll_pp_operator@vlemmy.net ) English6•1 year agoReddit having a glut of third party apps for viewing and navigating at your preference really helped with outreach.
Now those options are gone.
BigTed ( @BigTed@lemmy.fmhy.ml ) English8•1 year agoMy wife just saw this when trying lemmy for the first time
Welcome, wife of BigTed!
TheBraveSirRobin ( @TheBraveSirRobin@lemmy.fmhy.ml ) English7•1 year agoI also choose this guy’s dead wife

Flughoernchen ( @Flughoernchen@feddit.de ) English6•1 year agoI bet she’s gonna change her mind once the apps are more mature
Swootpatoot ( @Swootpatoot@lemmy.one ) English5•1 year agoBut did you show her the beans?
ipkpjersi ( @ipkpjersi@lemmy.one ) English4•1 year agoShe’s kinda right. It is less straightforward. I like it tho.
p3e7 ( @p3e7@lemm.ee ) English4•1 year agoSad :(
Strangian ( @Strangian@lemm.ee ) English2•1 year agoWhat app is she using to browse it? Wefwef and Memmy both seem pretty user friendly
At the moment, she’s only signed up on our self hosted instance and installed Jerboa. Getting her to try setting up an app is the first part of the battle.
Sylocule ( @Sylocule@lemmy.one ) English1•1 year agoTell her to try Memmy for Lemmy. It’s very good. Based on Apollo which I used for years.
We’re on Android, so I’m currently on Jerboa and trying to get her to try it. But she always uses the mobile web site and opens 10,000 tabs to browse one at a time.
Basically she wants a client with a reading list feature, I think.
Sylocule ( @Sylocule@lemmy.one ) English2•1 year agoIt’s a dual iOS and Android app.
Good to know! Looks like the Android half might require a bit more DIY investment (not on the play store yet) so I’ll have to look into that.
Sylocule ( @Sylocule@lemmy.one ) English1•1 year agoYeah, it’s on TestFlight on iOS (effectively testing only). But it’s stable for me and the developer is fixing reported issues pretty quickly
nanometre ( @nanometre@beehaw.org ) English1•1 year agoHow about wefwef.app then?
