They should be marked as bots so people can choose to filter them out, or not. If someone wants their human content to be fairly represented, they can use a separate account for the bot activity.

I understand the concern, but there are some low-impact options. Take a look at the Seeed SenseCAP T1000-E. It is thicker than a credit card, but it has the same length and width. It can serve as a tracker. It also works just fine as a personal Meshtastic radio.

The main issue with using a Meshtastic tracker is that there are places where there just aren’t enough nodes to make it practical. It generally works quite well in urban areas.

The US government certainly won’t protect American workers. It’s nice to know that the Mexican government will.

This is great news! Gesture typing has been the missing piece is a lot of otherwise excellent keyboard utilities. I am using Heliboard partly because of the workaround it supports, but that is not a great solution. This has the promise to address the issue directly and in a way that could benefit other keyboards as well.

Has anyone else run into problems using the app to perform firmware updates? I had used the previous version of the app to upgrade several units to 2.7.19. I tried using the new one to update to 2.7.24, but it failed over and over.

It’s a Heltec T114. I just checked and 2.7.25 is available for the T114, just not from inside the app.

I finally got a new version of the app, but it shows 2.7.24 as the most recent Alpha. I think it must just be hardcoded.

The app has not been updated recently, which must explain this.

That makes sense, given what we’re seeing. I hope the app will eventually get smarter about upgrades, but I can’t complain too much. It’s a new feature and a very welcome one.

There was a change to the Obtanium set for IronFox a month or so back. I don’t remember the details, but I did have to reconfigure my settings for it. It has been working just fine since then.

I have a Citizen Promaster Skyhawk AT and a Casio Pro Trek 3500. They’re both great watches, but I can’t hear the alarms on either of them. I don’t know why no one seems to make a usable watch alarm. Maybe my age has reduced my hearing by enough to matter. I end up wearing my Samsung smartwatch almost all the time because it’s alarms have plenty of volume and it also vibrates. It frustrates me.

If the frequency of posting was low enough it might not be a problem, but it would be much better to get a dedicated channel set up for emergency notifications and related traffic.

I’m with you on that. Some memes are better with images, but no one needs a picture of text. We work in a text-based environment. Just use text.

It is often difficult to tell the difference between dishonesty, willful ignorance, and simple stupidity. Trump’s executive branch is constantly putting us to that test.

I think this is a great idea. I have a similar situation and ended up putting my repeater at a nearby friend’s house that has better solar access. A small-scale wind system would probably work well in my area.

Unfortunately, I do suspect it will require someone with real technical chops to make it work. Maybe 3D print a small version of one of the vertical turbines and mount that on a small generator. It will still require some custom circuitry to manage the battery charging.

You folks are doing a great job. It is not possible to maintain a healthy environment without locking toxic people out. Those are always going to be tricky judgment calls, but someone has to make them. I appreciate the thought that you put into making those decisions, as well as the transparency in letting us know why.

I’m not an expert, but that sure does sound like a fake. As far as “fixing” it, I think the kindest repair would involve hitting it with a hammer until it was flat.

The top layers of all US departments have been replaced with people who have no qualifications except for their willingness to do anything Trump wants. It isn’t too surprising that most of them can’t actually do their jobs. And that’s before you get into how many of them are also totally corrupt.
