  • I hear what you’re saying. While golf does have a significant amount of raw muscularity into it (just take a look on average drive distances: for example where men typically average out about 60 yards further) and might make some sense separated out, skill sports where dexterity and control play the only role seem to me to be fair cross genders.

Precision shooting is a good example where the divide doesn’t make a lot of sense.

  • The rub is the shorter gaming sessions, which as a parent of young children I know all too well. Complex games lose their thread if you’re away from them too long and since it sounds like you want a pick up and play/ put down for awhile relationship with it, I probably would err toward No Man Sky of the bunch. Another poster suggested Hades which is an even better choice if you aren’t married to first person games.

If you liked Skyrim and are looking for a similar fix, don’t sleep on the Fallout series, especially New Vegas.

  • You know, I’m not entirely sure that holds. There was always a great sense of open-mindednes on Reddit; the big problem was populist binary opinions emerging as user density increased.

While a community is small, individuality can find a greater platform for expression. I have yet to see a larger community able to preserve those ideals, especially in the presence of reductive social proof voting up/down. The real test for Lemmy isn’t today but a few years from now when communities have a greater saturation of users and whether thought diversity will survive a nascent hive mind which these platforms always seem to evolve into.
