I can recommend Kagi. Yes, it’ll cost you to use it (but not a lot, eg. I’m on the $10/month plan), but people expecting to get everything for free online is what got us into this mess in the first place.
You can try it out for free for 100 searches. Personally I’ve found it very good and much less likely to give bullshit results than Google, and it allows you to adjust site rankings yourself. Their focus on privacy is also great; they don’t need to track users since they don’t have to survive by showing you ads
