I just meant when I was younger I would have killed for it. I never came across it unfortunately.

As a trans man, this is the guide I would have killed to have 10 years ago. I respectfully disagree with your take.
I don’t care how many times people explain to me that “kill all men” doesn’t actually mean kill all men. It still hurts. Ever since I transitioned, I’ve noticed the casual misandry thrown about everywhere like it’s not a big deal, but it’s a big deal to me. “All men are trash” includes me.
I’ve always had an issue with the idea that generalizations are okay. If “all men are trash” actually means “the patriarchy is trash”, just say that. I understand a lot of it as simply venting, but it’s almost never constructive or helpful, and it certainly isn’t fun to hear as a trans dude. Hell, part of the reason it took so long for me to accept myself as a man is because of this kind of rhetoric.
I hope it gets better, because it does feel very alienating whenever I encounter it. I want to be a part of queer spaces, but it’s hard when you feel hated.
I’m glad you’re doing something, despite the pain you’re in. I simply want bring your attention to the fact that the doom and gloom attitude is harmful for the fight. In fact, many consider the onslaught of apocalyptic headlines and the new industry of climate fear to be a new tactic to get people to do nothing. Michael E. Mann, famous climatologist, has talked about this problem as well.
I mean, that’s up to you. But I guarantee you will both feel better and maybe help save the world if you try doing something beyond getting angry and then disassociating.
Consider the fact that headlines that instill fear and doom work against us. What use is trying if it’s all fucked anyway? The thing is it isn’t over until it’s over. I can’t make you have hope, but hopefully you can come to realize that hope does a lot more for us than giving up. If you can envision a better future, you can work towards it! You can help advocate in your local Citizen’s Climate Lobby chapter, develop a good garden for local wildlife and pollinators, or even just helping others be aware of the issue can help. There’s no one coming to save us, so it’s up to us to save ourselves.
Or you can just get angry and do nothing.
I understand the anxiety. I was frozen from it for a long time. But what helped more than anything else was simply going outside and tending a garden. Find a love for the life on this planet, and try to protect it. There’s so much worth fighting for.
Our fate is never sealed. Undirected anger is as useless as apathy. Have hope, and work towards that hope.
All the David Cage sbfp let’s plays are fuckin gold. I don’t watch playthroughs anymore but I will go back and watch those every now and then
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought the big risk with AI is its use as a disinfo tool. Skynet ain’t no where near close, but a complete post truth world is possible. It’s already bad now… Could you imagine AI generated recordings of crimes that are used as evidence against people? There are already scam callers that use recordings to make people think theyve kidnapped relatives.
I really feel like most people aren’t afraid of the right things when it comes to AI.
That sounds awesome. I’ve never used CAD software but I might as well start, and also I have access to a 3d printer, so I might as well learn something for that as well. I’ll give it a try!
You realise voter suppression is a thing right? It’s unfair to say these people asked for it. It’s also unfair to everyone stuck there and too poor to leave, or don’t want to leave because it’s their home.
There are cat fences I believe that can work to make sure she doesn’t go anywhere. It would be best to be able to bring her inside but as long as she has good covered shelters and fun places to be she may be okay. I’m sure she’ll pout about not being able to go everywhere, but she may get over it as long as your yard is cat heaven.
I just scrolled through to see if anyone shouted out Mark of the Ninja. I hate stealth games, but absolutely loved that one.
I always really appreciate the effort y’all put into clarifying how you want this community to be run or actions y’all are taking. I wanna say that I really enjoy the feeling I get here: that people typically are good faith and see the human on the other side. Being a mod or admin and trying to exemplify the community you hope to foster has to be incredibly exhausting. That being said, the effort is noticeable, and I’m really thankful for y’all’s passion for this project of beeing nice :)
I’m so sorry you’re going through that. I wish informed consent was a thing everywhere for that reason.
I’m FTM so my experiences are a little different, but sometimes when I get dysphoric, I try to do things that normally give me euphoria. For me, that’s cutting my nails, listening to dad-rock, or trying to fix something. Typical man things. I don’t know what might give you euphoria, but maybe try to think about stuff that reinforces your gender to yourself, and try to do those things when you feel the dysphoria coming along.
The problem from my point of view is people not spaying/neutering cats, and then inevitably a feral population will show up. Many cats can have a litter at 6 months old. I’ve personally watched generations of cats grow outside my workplace.
It’s a huge problem. All the local shelters are beyond max capacity JUST FROM CATS. Feral cats explode in population, and the only real way to get populations under control is more Trap-Neuter-Return programs along with educating cat owners on why they absolutely must spay/neuter. There is no excuse not to.
Wait… So do you want leg hair or no? If it’s a matter of length to get your family off your back, maybe get one of those electric razors with a guard and just mostly shave it. Laser can remove hair permanently so if you want leg hair, don’t laser. Also it’s expensive.
I’m no expert on children’s programming, but my partner likes watching it. Pro-LGBTQ+ shows (according to him) include Craig of the Creek, Stephen Universe, Adventure Time, and Owl House. Cartoon Network ends up being more loose about LGBTQ+ representation than Disney, though some shows on Disney have had a lot of wink-wink-this-is-queer stuff.
I would probably get into the habit of teaching her to question things she’s told. A big problem I faced as I got older is the unquestioning acceptance of blatantly false “truths” that took me a while to re-evaluate. Learning critical thinking goes a loooooong way.
Not only did this woman not make websites (and it was just a hypothetical essentially), apparently the person cited for wanting a website for his gay wedding is a straight, married man. So they just made up a nonexistent person for someone’s nonexistent job and now there’s a law about it.

This article encapsulates everything I feel about the subject. I hate using subtitles, but sometimes I just have to in order to hear what people are saying due to streaming services messing with the actual sound mix using their stupid algorithms. As for reasons I hate subtitles: they distract from the actual film and can occasionally spoil things happening. If subtitles are on the screen, my brain forces my eyes down to read them, and I inevitably lose out on some of the nuances of the visual part of the visual media.
Additionally, if I’m watching foreign films, I get this urge to learn the language so I can stop using subtitles. Maybe I’m a curmudgeon, but I just can’t stand them. I can’t imagine watching Redline for instance with subtitles on. Yuck.
I watched it with my partner not long ago and I was ready for a good albeit dry movie. Nah, that movie kept me enraptured for every second. Probably one of my favorite movies now.
